Instructions for Little Farmer Horse Lacing Activity
- Sketch out the outline of the horse on the chart and cut it out.
- Encourage your child to dip the toothbrush in paint and paint the horse. Leave it to dry.
- Cut the yarn into pieces of equal measurement.
- Apply glue at the horse’s neck. Help your child stick the pieces of yarn, one by one, to make the mane.
- Apply glue on the horse’s head and assist your child in sticking the yarn.
The horse is ready to gallop around.
Have a discussion with your child about this farm animal — where it lives, how it goes from one place to another, what it eats, what sound it makes, etc. Ask them to hold the horse in the hand and trot around the house. Help them narrate an interesting story about the horse. “There was once a horse who loved to shake its head…”
Your child learns to paint the horse in a different manner — using toothbrush. As they stick the yarn on the horse to make the mane, their fine motor movements improve.
