  • Ask your child to dip their hand in some paint and create an imprint in an A4 sheet. In a same manner, let them repeat the process with the other hand.
  • Ask your child to dip their index finger in red paint and imprint it on the heads of the hens. Add fingerprints to create the grains on the ground.
  • Ask your child to dip the finger in black paint and imprint the eyes of the hens. Let the paint dry.
  • Use a sketch pen to draw the legs and claws.

Ta-da, your handprint hen is ready!

What other handprint farm animals can your toddler and you create? How about creating a family of different farm animals? Your child and you can imprint to create big and small animals. Encourage your little one to narrate stories.

Dipping their hands and finger in paint and then imprinting on paper helps develop your toddler’s hand-eye coordination. The texture of the paint provides them with a unique sensory experience.
