Space Adventure Activity For Kids: Marbled Planets

Each planet in the solar system is different, isn’t it? Each is of a different pattern! Now there are planets that haven’t yet been discovered. Encourage your child to imagine a new planet, and help them create the new planet and make an awesome wall decor as well.  How about helping your child create their imaginary planets using an interesting painting technique — marbling effect. All you need are some acrylic paint, water, and a few sheets of paper. So, go ahead and check out this space adventure marbled planets activity to know how.

Materials

  1. A4 sheets
  2. Acrylic paint
  3. Bowl of water
  4. Coloured paper – black
  5. Glitter powder
  6. Sketch pens
  7. Glue
  8. A pair of scissors

Instructions for Space Adventure Marbled Planets Activity

  • In A4 sheets, draw circles. Cut them out.
  • Take some water in a bowl.
  • Add different colours and watch them make patterns.
  • Place a circular paper and take it out. Ensure you don’t immerse it in water. Leave it to dry.
  • Repeat the same with few more papers. You could add
  • Once dry, glue them to the black chart.
  • Apply glue all over the black chart. Sprinkle some glitter powders.

Ta-da, the marbled planets are ready to be displayed!

Put the marbled planets on the wall. Then, encourage your child name each of the planets and describe how each of them are. How about an imaginary story?

Your child learns a new technique of printing colours on paper — marbling technique. As they name and describe this new ‘planet,’ they exercise their creativity.
